A Gorgeous Sunset Maternity Session
Their Maternity Photos Session at North Glenmore Park
We met Michael and Stephanie at North Glenmore Park, the gorgeous green-space that overlooks the Glenmore Reservoir and Weaselhead Natural Area. The weather was absolutely phenomenal for this late in November, which was perfect for our session.
The Hurd’s are expecting a baby boy, and they couldn’t be more excited! They both brought along a few outfit changes to the session, and started in matching blue attire!
To open the shoot we walked along the paths in the park and found a nice bench overlooking the reservoir. The sun was hanging right above the expecting parents, just getting ready to set in the sky. We took several bench shots there, and the setting sun gave us beautiful silhouettes against the dramatic white clouds.
Down by the water, we photographed the couple together against the sunset. Stephanie was wearing a form fitting aqua shirt that showed off her baby bump nicely. We then moved into a nearby grove of trees that bent together to almost form a tunnel shape. Stephanie changed into a maxi dress and we used the hanging trees to frame her.
One of the fun challenges of the day was the disparate height of Michael and Stephanie. Michael stands at 6’2”, where Stephanie stands a whole foot shorter at 5’2″! We got some fun shots of him kissing the top of her head with very little effort! For a lot of the shots, we had him kneel to be on par with her, and sometimes we even sat him down. This provoked a lot of laughs from both of them.
We hung out in the pines for a while before moving on to another bench for some more incredible silhouette shots. Stephanie’s dress hugged her belly and showed off her baby bump nicely in the silhouette. The sky was just turning dark and lit with gold and blue, creating a gorgeous backdrop.
After one more outfit change, we finished the shoot off in the long grass in front of the reservoir. We had a great time with the Hurd’s during their maternity session and can’t wait to photograph their little boy when he arrives.

We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to share this moment with Stephanie and her husband. It was a very special day with them and we wish them many years of happiness as their family grows.
