All Smiles for the Funk Family Session
The Mini Session at Our Studio
The Funk family paid a visit to our studio for a mini winter themed session. Ryan, Laura, and their young son Marshall were really pleasant, a lot of fun to work with, and easy to photograph!
The family was all dressed up in coordinating shades of blue and black. Their wardrobe really popped against the white snowflake bokeh backdrop that we set up behind them. We kept the session simple, and we made sure to get lots of action shots interspersed amongst traditional poses. We got lots of great shots of their two-year-old son Marshall playing around with his parents, smiles all around.
Marshall is an absolutely adorable little guy. He was incredibly cooperative for the entire shoot, which really made our job easier! He is at an age where he loves cars, and because it’s Christmas, he’s also very fond of Santa Claus! He carried around two toy cars with him during the shoot, but about halfway through the session he noticed a little golden bear up on our shelf. He was enamoured with it. So he was happy to swap out his favourite toy cars to hang out with the bear, which he proceeded to name ‘Randall’. He sat down on the white blanket and we photographed him from above having the best time just playing with the teddy bear. We also had him climb up in the chair, and he had a lot of fun making silly faces and giving us huge smiles.
Because Laura is currently 29 weeks pregnant, we also worked some maternity shots into the session. We photographed her showing off the bump under a white t-shirt, and then we got little Marshall beside her for a few shots of him and his expectant mom. Ryan and Laura are keeping the gender of their baby a secret, so we are really excited to find out what it is when they come back for their newborn session!
