On a beautiful spring day I visited Brad and Yuliya at the home in South Calgary. Throughout the months of March and February we had been experiencing huge snow storms followed by Chinooks that melted or turned what didn’t melt into ice. This was as typical for this cycle as we had just recently had a snow storm and mother nature was busy melting it all away. In their home we used their living room, fireplace and the Jakes nursery for their shoot. For the shoot baby Jake was all smiles which was perfect for the family group photos.
We meet with Justine, Time and little Logan at the Angel’s Cappuccino and Ice Cream shop on the north side of the Bow River Pathway. Crossing the bridge takes you over the the Edworthy Park Picnic Area where they have all these beautiful rows of trees. Justine brought along a water proof picnic blanket and we brought a rustic brown blanket for the family to sit on. Nestled under the sweeping branched of the Edworthy evergreens we went to work photographing Logan and his parents.
We are always excited when Mommy Connections (http://www.mommyconnections.ca/calgary) has a new mom and baby class because this means we get the opportunity to photograph the new mom’s with their little ones. This time we visited 1 class that started in February which was put on by Katherine Dolan the Director of Mommy Connections Calgary and her team.

A Sunset Session with the Szarmes Family [oscvideo type=”vimeo” link=”https://vimeo.com/247025105″ dimensions=”16by9″] For the Szarmes family session we headed down to Bowness Park near their home. Bowness itself has a fascinating history; once an independent town, it has since been absorbed by the ever-expanding city of Calgary. The recent streak of fantastic weather held up, and Continue reading
Celebrating Herself We spent a Sunday morning with Mary in our studio for a solo portrait session. Michelle from Michelle Suffolk-Walsh Hair & Makeup Artistry started Mary’s session with a beautiful full face of makeup. This is something Mary doesn’t do often for herself so she was surprised to see herself all done up! Mary Continue reading
With a few days to go before Christmas we met with the Pointon Family at Pearce Estate Park. Calgary has had such warm weather this winter we were beginning to wonder if we would have a white Christmas. Just days before their session the whole city was covered in a soft blanket of white snow, perfect for their session and for their ski trip at Lake Louise that they were heading out to after their photos.
My son had his pre-schools Christmas party today and I was lucky enough to photograph all the kids enjoying the party put on by Mrs. Nixon and her helpers. They even arranged a special visit from Santa Clause himself.
Fur Everywhere (and some piddles!) Charity Photos This past weekend, it was all about the dogs (oh, and one cat) at the 1st Annual Pet Planet Christmas Charity Photo Session. We had dogs of all sizes, all colours and all heights (check out the Great Dane!). One dog really stood out for me on this Continue reading
With Christmas on the horizon we met the Ng’s for their first family session with little Mason. Calgary has been having some incredibly warm weather this winter and this day was no exception. We met Jillian, Raymond, baby Mason and both their parents at Pearce Estate Park. The sun was shining brightly through the reeds, making a beautiful warm backdrop for their photos.
