A Cool Autumn Day at the Bow River
On a crisp autumn morning we met the Bourque family just outside the Sheraton Suites in Eau Claire. We gathered up and headed north to the beautiful and popular Prince’s Island Park that sits in the Bow River. In 1947 the land for the park was donated to the city by the Prince family, hence it’s name.
We walked along the river and found a lovely spot that highlighted the gorgeous fall colors in the trees, with the river in the background.
Magali, Sebastien, and their two children Maelle who is 3, and baby Elliot who is just 5 months old, were all smiles as we set up the shoot. Despite the chill, and the red noses from the crisp air, we had a fun session.
We kept the shots simple, and sat the family amongst some nice large boulders on the edge of the river. The water was very still and gave us beautiful reflections of the golden trees.
The family wore shades of red and grey that really complimented the autumn shoot. We got poses of everyone in different combinations, including a few adorable shots of the kids in the autumn leaves. We placed baby Elliot in a basket filled with wool, and got a couple of adorable smiles in the process.
The session was quick and smooth, and the children were attentive. It was a really fun mini session, and we look forward to photographing them again!
