Smiles and a Sock-Monkey: A Family Mini Session at Confederation Park
For the Cunningham Mini Session, we headed off to Confederation Park beside the Rosemont Community Association. The 400-acre park was perfect for the family shoot because it has many excellent locations for backdrops!
Jessica, Luke, and their 16-month-old son Charlie met us at the edge of the park, and we wandered in together to a beautiful spot amongst the trees. A low-cut stump made the perfect bench for the family, so we set them up together and began to photograph.
To warm little Charlie up for the session, his parents brought along his favourite toy – a sock monkey named George! The smiles came out as soon as he saw his stuffed animal!
Even though he was camera-shy at first, as soon as he was alone on the stump, he became the perfect subject, smiling and placing his hands casually on his knees. We brought Luke back in with his son and got the giggles going by bouncing and playing around with him. Jessica came in for her own set of shots with Charlie as well, both smiling from ear to ear.
Near the end of the 20-minute Mini Session, Charlie was getting sleepy, so we let him nap in the stroller while we wrapped up with photos of his parents together.
We had a lovely day with the Cunningham family, and we hope they love their images as much as we loved capturing them!
